Free trial and subscription
7 days free, then $9.99 a month. Cancel anytime in Settings. One price for everyone, students included. Nothing is charged during the trial, and we email you before it ends. You start the free trial before using Nirvaana, on the web and in the app.
Starting your free trial
You start the free trial before using Nirvaana, on the web and in the Mac and Windows app. After you sign in and answer “Before we start”, What will you use Nirvaana for? comes first (pick any, or skip it), then Start your free trial. (Older accounts: After those 7 days, Start your free trial comes first.) It's 7 days free, then $9.99 a month, and cancel any time before the trial ends and you won't be charged. The same page has “Manage your account” (signing apps and connected AIs out, leaving a world, turning guest links off, taking a bank out, stopping a calendar), “Download your world”, “Delete your account” and “Sign out”.
In “Settings”, under “Billing”, read the terms beside the button, tick the box, and press “Start free trial”. Stripe, our payment company, asks for a card; nothing is charged during the 7 days. We email you the terms to keep, and a reminder before the trial ends.
When the trial ends, your card is charged $9.99 a month automatically, and then every month until you cancel. There is one free trial per person, per email address and per card: if you had one before, or the card has, starting is charged from the first day, and the page says so before you press anything.
In the Mac and Windows app, “Start free trial” opens the same page in your browser, and brings you back to the app when you're done.
Cancelling
In “Settings”, under “Billing”, press “Cancel subscription”. That is the whole of it, and we email you to confirm. Cancel during the trial and you are never charged. Cancel later and it stops at the end of the month you have paid for. We do not refund part of a month, except where the law requires it. If you're under 18, you or a parent can write to hello@nirvaana.ai and we cancel it at once and refund your latest payment.
“Manage subscription” opens Stripe's page for your card, your invoices and receipts, and cancelling there too.
Room for files
During the free trial, files are up to 50 MB each and 1 GB in total, a Slack export is up to 100 MB, and you can add up to 30 files an hour. With the subscription, files are up to 1 GB each and 5 GB in total, a Slack export is up to 5 GB, and you can add up to 120 files an hour. The total counts what you add to messages, what you put in a world's Files, email attachments you keep, a Slack export while it's being brought in, your voice messages and the files Nirvaana makes for you. If a file is too big, there isn't room, or you've added a lot in an hour, Nirvaana says so before anything is sent. Without a trial or a subscription nothing new can be added, and nothing already here is deleted.
If a payment doesn't go through
Once you have paid for a month, everything keeps working for 7 days while Stripe tries the card again, and Stripe emails you a link to update it. “Update the card” in Billing does the same. If the first payment after your trial doesn't go through, Nirvaana is read-only until it does, since the trial was the free week.
Read-only
- If your trial or subscription ends, Nirvaana is read-only: you can still sign in, see everything and export it. Export is in “Settings”, under “Your world”.
- Nirvaana doesn't answer, and nothing new is added from the apps, until it starts again.
- Nothing is ever deleted. Starting again picks up exactly where you left off.
