Team chat and Messages
Team chat is a world's people talking to each other, the way a team talks in a group chat. Messages is you and one other person, on your own.
Both are people talking to people. Nirvaana never reads Messages. It doesn't read a world's Team chat either, unless you give it one of your own messages there, or the world's owner turns on Team chat capture, and then everyone there is told so, or someone there asks @Nirvaana a question, and then it reads the world's recent Team chat to answer them, in Team chat, for everyone to see. If someone reports a message, a person at Nirvaana reads that message to decide on it.
Both open account by account. If you don't see a Team chat tab or Messages, it isn't on for your account.
Team chat, in a world
Open a world you share and press its “Team chat” tab. What is written there arrives on everyone's screen as it is written. A dot on the world, in the row at the top, means something was said you haven't read; a fuller dot means someone mentioned you.
- Everyone in the world reads its Team chat, and nobody else. A moon's Team chat is the moon's alone.
- Type @ to mention someone in the world, and they'll see you did.
- “Edit” changes your own words; “Withdraw” takes a message back for good.
- The owner chooses who can write, on the world's “Settings” tab under “Who can talk”. Everyone in it can always read.
- On someone else's message, “Report” sends it to Nirvaana's team, and “Block” hides their messages from you. Neither is told to them.
- You can record a voice message there too, and play the ones others left.
A private world has no Team chat tab, because there is nobody else in it. What is said in Team chat never becomes something the world knows on its own. With Team chat capture on (a world's “Settings” tab, under “Connectors”), what someone says they'll do, what they're waiting on, and dates go to “Due and waiting” on the world's page, and a line at the top of Team chat says it is on.
Asking @Nirvaana in Team chat
Anyone in a world can write “@Nirvaana” and a question in its Team chat. A few seconds later Nirvaana answers there, under its own name and marked “via Nirvaana”, and everyone in the world sees the answer.

@Nirvaana when is the launch review?
Nirvaanavia NirvaanaAnswering Maya
Thursday at 3 pm. It's on the world's calendar.
- It answers from what everyone in the world can see: its facts and decisions, its checklist, its calendar and its recent Team chat. Never from anyone's private memories or connected apps. If the answer isn't there, it says so.
- Ask it to do one thing, like adding to the checklist or reminding you on Friday. It does it as you, only if you could, only in your own words, and the way your setting under “Your AI” in “Settings” says. With “Ask me first”, it waits on a card for your “Approve” on your own Today, which only you see. If the kind of thing, its day or its time isn't plainly in your own words (a weekday is the next one; a time says am or pm, or is 24-hour time like 15:00), it always waits for your Approve.
- What someone else wrote in Team chat is only something it reads. It never acts on it for you, and it never passes on a link, web address or email address that only Team chat holds.
- You or the world's owner can withdraw an answer, like any message. Nobody edits one.
- The owner can turn it off on the world's “Settings” tab, under “Nirvaana in Team chat”. It's on unless they do.
Asking Claude to tell someone
If you connected Nirvaana to Claude, you can ask it to tell a teammate something. It goes to the Team chat of a world you share with them, as you, and everyone there sees which app sent it. In “Settings”, under “Messages Claude sends for you”, you can have each one wait as a draft for your Send instead.
Messages, one to one
“Messages”, in the top strip where you see it, is your conversations with one person at a time. Only the two of you read them. You can write to people you share a world with; nobody else can find you there.
- Open someone's page from a world you share, for instance from the world's people or its org chart.
- Press “Message” and write. For someone a couple of steps above you in the org, the button says “Ask to talk” instead: you send a short note, and they can say yes, not now, or point you to someone better placed.
- Someone further up shows “Reach through” a person between you, who can pass it on or ask for you.
“Close conversation” ends one: neither of you writes there after, and they can't ask again until you open it. If you stop sharing a world with someone, you can still read what you wrote, but not write more.
Who can message you
In “Settings”, under “Privacy”, then “Who can message me”, choose who can start a conversation with you. Everyone else asks first, and you say yes or no.
- “People near me” — Anyone at your level, one step up or below. People further down ask first.
- “Anyone I share a world with” — Anyone in a world with you can message you. Conversations started while this is on stay open until you close them, even if you change it later.
- “Only people I've accepted” — Everyone else asks first, and you say yes or no.
Someone you're working with on a shared promise or a hand-off can write while that work is open, unless you closed the conversation.
