Getting started

After you sign up, four short steps help you start with what you already have. Every step can be skipped, and you can come back to all of it from Settings.

Step 1 comes first, then “Start your free trial”, then the other three steps.

1. What will you use Nirvaana for?

Pick any that fit, like “Using AI at work” or “School and homework”, or none. Your answers only change which apps are suggested first; everything else is the same for everyone. They stay private, and you can change them in Settings, under “What you use Nirvaana for”.

If you are under 18, the list starts with school and leaves out Money overview.

2. Bring your work in

The apps that fit your answers are the big buttons, and the rest are under “More apps”. Only apps that are switched on for your account are shown.

  • Microsoft brings your calendar and email in one press. Google takes two: your calendar first, then “Add Gmail”. Each ends on Allow.
  • “Import your whole Slack workspace” opens the Slack import, which drafts first too.
  • Canvas, for school, opens your classes. Its card makes your school and this term's classes together, and asks which classes you're taking when Canvas doesn't say.

Once something is connected, Nirvaana drafts one card, “Here's your world”. It suggests a world only for something real: a team or project you work on with at least two other people, active in the last month, like a meeting that repeats. At most five. Each one says why in a line, and who would be in it.

  1. Nothing is ticked. Tick the worlds you want, and rename any of them.
  2. Tick what goes in each: its open promises and key facts.
  3. Under “For you”, tick the promises and facts that are just yours.
  4. Press “Approve”. Only what you ticked is kept. Nobody is invited: each world's page has Invite when you're ready.

3. Connect your AI apps

Buttons such as “Add to Claude” open each app with Nirvaana filled in. Each one ends on Nirvaana's own Allow page, so nothing connects without you. In the Nirvaana app on a Mac or Windows, Connections also has “Connect my AI apps”.

4. Done

Nirvaana suggests three starter automations, each with “Add”, and a first world called “My world”, with a name you can change. These are the same for everyone, whatever you picked. Take any, or none, then “Go to today”.

Where ship mode is open to you, “A first project” lists the starter templates open to you, each with “Start it”. Start it finishes setting up and opens the chat with the template's first sentence in the box: say what it's for, and send. Nirvaana plans nothing until you send it, and nothing starts until you press “Approve” on its card. See Starter templates.

Doing it again

In Settings, under “What you use Nirvaana for”, “Change” changes your answers and “Set up again” goes through the four steps again.
